The Gunners and Emirate Stadium will play host to Manchester United Wednesday night in their latest EPL match. This is the first match for Arsenal after a stinging defeat against Liverpool at Anfield during the weekend.

It is a week filled with rumors of Robin Van Persie returning to Arsenal after almost two years at Old Trafford. It is another crucial match for the two EPL giants in their quest for the 2013/14 trophy.

Arsenal

The Gunners need a win in order to maintain their hopes of an EPL trophy after a near decade drought.  While Arsenal had a great start of the season, they experienced problems as the season progressed.

In addition to the loss at Anfield, they were unable to survive the onslaught by Manchester City.  Arsenal and Chelsea faced each other in a December match with no goals scored.

There is still some hope at the Emirates. They are currently behind Chelsea in the current EPL table with 55 points.

The Gunners currently have 17 wins with four losses and draws. They have 47 goals for and 20 against with a goal differential of 27.

It remains to be seen if Mesut Ozil will be at the lineup in this match.  It is expected that the Lukas Podolski along with Theo Wolcott and Santo Cazorla will be present.

We cannot forget the home town advantage for Arsenal. They are looking for revenge after the Red Devils defeated them last November.

Manchester United

Manchester United is not the same club when Sir Alex Ferguson dominated Old Trafford. While the new manager David Moyes apparently thinks the Red Devils are dangerous, the opposite is true.

United is feeling the effects of a club that currently experiences a downward turn.  The club recently scored two goals in a tie with Fulham.

They are currently in in seventh place in the current EPL table with 41 points. This includes 12 wins, five draws, eight losses, 41 goals for and 31 against for a difference of ten.

The Express apparently quoted midfielder Anderson about an exodus from United which he denied saying. The Daily Mail reported Javier [Chicharito] Hernandez expressing frustration at Old Trafford.

Juan Mata went as far as to tell the faithful to remain supportive of Manchester United. Who may be in the lineup?

Robin Van Persie will return to the Emirates and it remains to be seen the reception at the Emirates. Wayne Rooney, Juan Mata, Patrice Evra, and Danny Welbeck will be present in this match as well.
