Arsenal and Manchester United started their match with fanfare and celebration only to disappoint supporters on both sides. What happened to the two giants of the Premier League at the Emirates?
The Gunners had possession of the match and the ground but were unable to take advantage of the situation. Wojciech Szczesny managed important saves to block attempts by Robin Van Persie to score.
Oliver Giroud was unable to advance in the match but Santi Cazorla was able to use Manchester United's weakness with two saves from their goalkeeper David De Gea. Mesut Ozil and Laurent Koscielny were the strongest link in the Gunners with their penetration within the field.
Unfortunately, they were unable to do much with a team that did not advance in their home stadium.
Manchester United was unable to capitalize on the weakness of Arsenal to score goals. It appeared that both teams did not play the game to win but to finish it. The Red Devils will continue to struggle in the EPL while Arsenal remains in second place.
