According to an article published in ESPN, a British magazine published a news story about Frank Lampard signing with the MLS Club LA Galaxy. The amount of money offered to Lampard would be $20 M for a two year contract with the Galaxy.
The article commented about David Beckham and AEG President Tim Leiweke interested in seeing Lampard wear the LA Galaxy uniform. While the news has yet to be confirmed, the idea of Lampard spending his last years playing for the MLS is not a bad idea.
Lampard has one more year left in his contract with Chelsea and Roberto Di Matteo (Chelsea manager) may want to release him. The reason would be for a generational shift that saw Didier Drogba retire from Chelsea.
Frank Lampard is currently in his 30's and Chelsea may not need him after next year. Chelsea FC is in need of younger players if it wants to keep its hopes in the Premier League and UEFA Champions League alive.
Lampard with his style of play can promote world football in matches as well as interviews with the media in America. The Premier League Insider is willing to invite Frank Lampard to be interviewed in the future.
The idea of Lampard in Los Angeles would be a win win situation since Christine Bleakley (WAG of Lampard) is a television personality in England and would win a large audience in America. It remains to be seen what will transpire.
