Sir Alex Ferguson (Manchester United Manager) announced that the Red Devils are in no hurry to buy new players during the January Transfer Window. He made the announcement (published in First Post and Reuters) in response to comments about a possible response to reports about Hernandez, Vidic, Anderson, and Cleverly being injured.
Ferguson said that he did not understand why people make claims about a possible spending spree. He repeated that Manchester United would only sign a player if they saw potential.
The venerable manager (who has been at the helm a quarter century) recognized the efforts of Darren Fletcher before he was sidelined by illness. Ferguson admitted that Fletcher is not an easy person to replace.
The end result is that Manchester United is expected to hold on to its position during January. Maybe Manchester United will set a precedent when the UEFA Financial Fair Play Law takes effect in Europe.
