John Obi Mikel (midfielder for Chelsea) is suffering at the present time. According to an article by PA Sport which was published in Yahoo Eurosport, Mikel's father was kidnapped while returning home from work.
According to the local police (in Nigeria), the car belonging to Mikel's father was found abandoned in the town of Jos. Mikel's family has not received information as to where Mikel's father has been taken.
Mikel has also pleaded (in an interview with Sky Sports and publiched in Yahoo Eurosport) with the kidnappers to release his father since there was no reason for the kidnapping. The response of the kidnappers was to ask for a ransom of more than $140,000.
Joseph Yobo (Everton defender) was also a victim of a kidnapping when his brother was abducted in Nigeria in 2008. While no one can change the world, the kidnapping should be brought to the attention of the world.
If there is anyone reading this particular article in The Premier League Insider, support John Obi Mikel in his attempt to find his father. I also challenge any readers to condemn this kidnapping and facilitate the release and peaceful family reunification of Mikel's Family.
Thank you.
