The last few weeks of the Premier League [EPL] is tense for Liverpool and Chelsea. Both teams are fighting for the trophy to the last minute and will face each other at Anfield.

To appreciate the EPL possibilities for the top two teams, a review of their last matches is necessary. From there, we can predict the match between Liverpool and Chelsea at Anfield.

Chelsea was defeated by relegation threatened Sunderland at Stamford Bridge. In doing so, the Black Cats ended The Blue Nations winning streak and embarrassed the latter’s manager Jose Mourinho.

The Blue Nation was complacent and disorganized after Samuel Eto’o scored the only goal. The reason was that Chelsea expected an easy victory in their match against the Black Cats.

This worked to Sunderland’s advantage as Connor Wickham scored the equalizer. Fabio Bonini add an extra goal during a penalty to shock Chelsea and Stamford Bridge.

If Chelsea wants to save itself, there should be a fight to the last minute. In football and the sports world, there is no absolute victory or defeat.

Forward Eden Hazard could help Chelsea in its three remaining matches but he cannot be alone. Others have to step up and apply pressure during the matches for a victory or a dignified ending.

Chelsea did the right thing in substituting Fernando Torres for Eto’o within the last few minutes. Torres appears to be the weakest link at Stamford Bridge and would do little damage at the end of a match.

Expect Chelsea to resist the pressure from Liverpool.

Liverpool is almost close to winning an EPL trophy for the first time in two decades. Forward Luis Suarez with Midfielders Raheem Sterling and Philippe Coutinho are powerhouses in the Red’s comeback.

The goals scored by Sterling and Suarez against Norwich City were powerful with both players dominating the match. The Red’s manager Brandon Rodgers inspires the team to remain firm under pressure which helps as well.

Liverpool appears to be playing an attacking, possessing, and forward match with emphasis on in depth offense. There is no room for complacency or underestimation of the opposing team within Liverpool.

While the locker room and managers are crucial for a team, the supporters contribute during all seasons regardless of how Liverpool fares.

This is going to be a closely fought match between two major teams with top managers. Suarez, Sterling, and Coutinho will score three goals for Liverpool until the end of regular time.

The same applies when Eto’o and Hazard score for Chelsea. Both teams will play extra time until the match is decided by penalties.

In the end, Liverpool will win by penalties with Suarez scoring the last goal.

Liverpool 3-3 Chelsea

Liverpool wins on penalties after extra time.
