Robin Van Persie received the Barclay's Golden Boot Award for the amount of goals scored in the first half of the Premier League season. According to Goal, Van Persie (Arsenal FC Striker) scored 22 goals within 24 appearances during the current Premier League (EPL) season.
Van Persie scored 20 of the 22 goals within the first half of the EPL Season. The award does not mean resting on past accomplishments.
Van Persie is hoping to reach the record held by Andy Cole and Alan Shearer. They held the record of 34 goals within 42 matches in one season.
In order to that, Van Persie will have to break the record set by Cristiano Ronaldo during the 2007-2008 EPL Season. Ronaldo scored 30 goals during that period.
Van Persie will be able to do that in the near future.
