Roman Pavlyuchenko (Tottenham Hotspur FC striker) scored one goal against FC Rubin Kazan during the UEFA Europa League matches. The match between the two clubs was not an easy one with FC Rubin Kazan playing tough in the field.
Christian Noboa, Gokdeniz Karadeniz, and Aleksandr Ryazantsev of FC Rubin Kazan applied pressure on the Spurs. FC Rubin Kazan placed Heurelho Gomes (Spurs Goal Keeper) on the defensive but were unable to score.
Gomes appeared to have rebutted the attempts at a goal from Karadeniz who was assisted by Noboa. Noboa had executed a cross in an attempt to score.
Pavlyuchenko was able to score the only goal of the match for the Spurs with a freekick. Pavlyuchenko executed the free kick within 33 minutes.
Noboa and Ryazantsev attempted an equalizer within 55 minutes but Gomes blocked the ball before it entered the goal post. The end result was a victory for the Spurs even though both teams were strong in their play.
The victory leaves the Spurs in first place in Group A of the UEFA Europa League matches with seven points. PAOK is second with five points followed by FC Rubin Kazan with four points and the Shamrock Rovers with zero.
It remains to be seen how the Group A UEFA Europa League will transpire but the Spurs seem to dominate.
